Kawhi Leonard Out Again With New Injury

Well, that didn't take long. After missing 12 games to get his surgically repaired knee ready to play again, Kawhi Leonard played three games, and now is out once again. This time with a new injury.

Leonard has a right ankle sprain and is out at least for Wednesday's game vs. the Golden State Warriors. He suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter Monday night against the Utah Jazz, rolling his ankle as he attempted to block a shot.

Kawhi now joins Paul George, Luke Kennard, Brandon Boston Jr., Moussa Diabate and Jason Preston all also out for the Clippers.

As for his constant lack of availability, analyst Kendrick Perkins has a thought:

"If they calling AD street clothes then what the hell are we calling Kawhi Leonard, Pajamas? I mean, damn!"

Leonard missed all of last season after tearing his right ACL in the 2021 playoffs. He signed a 4-year, $176M contract with the Clippers soon after that injury, even though the team was aware he'd likely be out the full year. This season? Five games played in 18 Clippers contests thus far.

In fact, as of tonight, he'll have missed more games (139) than he's played (138) in the last four seasons since coming to LA.
