Report: Nate McMillan Contemplating Huge Decision

It's been a turbulent season for the Atlanta Hawks, mired in locker room controversies and communication problems. Now, according to NBA Insider Shams Charania, head coach Nate McMillan is strongly considering resigning from his post.

Things came to a boiling point earlier this month during a confrontation at a shootaround, when McMillan reportedly gave star guard Trae Young an ultimatum, and Young didn't show up for the Hawks' next game. That opened up evidence of a simmering feud in the Hawks' inner sanctum.

Although Charania says in The Athletic that no resignation from McMillan is imminent, it's certainly something he's "strongly" considering.

Recent comments from McMillan outlined the challenges he's having communicating with the young Hawks players. “I’m coaching in a different generation of players that I played with and really kind of coached,” said McMillan, who has been coaching in the NBA for more than two decades.

“It’s different the way you communicate, the way the game is played and how they see the game. They see the game different than when I played it and when I started coaching.”
