NBA Rumors: Wizards, Suns Talking Trade

Two teams that have been mentioned prominently in trade rumors thus far this season are the Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards. Word is that the two teams might be able to take care of things by dealing with each other.

Is there any fire to the smoke we've heard about Washington's breakout star Kyle Kuzma winding up in Phoenix?

Yeah. There's definitely some conversations being had between Washington and Phoenix. The Wizards are a team that would be interested in adding Crowder.

Jae Crowder, of course, has been holding out from the Suns all season waiting for a trade, while Kuzma will be opting out of his $13M contract for next season to become a free agent, pursuing a deal that averages at least $20M per year.

Kuzma is averaging a career-best 21.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists. "He's gonna wanna get paid," said Fischer.

And while a trade would be the safest route for the Wizards to take to ensure they don't lose their star forward for nothing, Fischer says it's not their first choice.

"I'm pretty sure, from multiple people I've talked to with the team, they would prefer a future where they're battling their way back into the playoff picture with Bradley Beal, Kristaps Porzingis and Kyle Kuzma at the front of everything, and re-sign him next year."

But with all of that in doubt, talks like they're having with the Suns will likely continue.
