Los Angeles Lakers Give Workout To Former Mavericks Guard

Ten-day contract season has opened, and the Los Angeles Lakers are already diving into some options. They've already signed one five-year veteran, are considering a former 4-time All-Star, and have also worked out a guard waived a couple of weeks ago by the Dallas Mavericks.

Tyler Dorsey auditioned for the Lakers on Thursday. The 26-year-old had spent the last three seasons overseas, playing in Israel and Greece. After being waived by Dallas around Christmas, he was expected to head back to the EuroLeague. But he obviously wanted to give the NBA one more shot.

Dorsey got into just three games for the Mavs, and averaged less than three minutes per game. He had a bit of rotation time for the Atlanta Hawks and Memphis Grizzlies a few seasons back, after being the Hawks' second-round pick in the 2017 Draft.

The Lakers are hurting in the backcourt right now, as two key guards have just gone down to injury. Dorsey may very well get his chance in Hollywood.
