NBA Rumors: Utah Jazz, Atlanta Hawks Talking Trade

He could hold the record for most times being mentioned in a trade rumor, and now we can add another possibility to the list. The Utah Jazz are the latest team to make inroads on a deal with the Atlanta Hawks for power forward John Collins.

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports:

The Jazz and Hawks have discussed a deal surrounding John Collins for (Malik) Beasley and (Jarred) Vanderbilt, sources said, although Utah has lobbied Atlanta for a first-round pick in addition to Collins to complete that framework.

Although the Jazz may like the thought of adding the big man to their mix, they might not be quite as keen on adding the remaining 3 ½ years and approx. $87M left on his massive contract. For that reason, they'd want to have a first-rounder thrown in to compensate them.

As for Beasley and Vanderbilt, according to Fischer, "Utah has received plenty of incoming calls on both," and they're looking for a first-round pick in return for each player.

Collins' numbers are down this year, scoring just 13.3 points per game, a decrease of three points from his career norm, and he's shooting a miserable 23.1% from three, eons below his career average of 35.8%.

Vanderbilt is averaging a career-high 8.5 points for the Jazz, with 8.1 rebounds in just 24 minutes, while Beasley is at 14 PPG while shooting 36% from beyond the arc.
