Report: Insider Says OG Anunoby Wants Out Of Toronto

The chatter around the Toronto Raptors continues, and the latest ominous news comes from an anonymous team insider, who says the star wing OG Anunoby wants out of Toronto.

Bob McCown, a longtime well-connected Toronto sports voice, dropped this surprising nugget on his podcast:

"I talked to an insider in the NBA... tells me that Anunoby wants out of Toronto. He wants to be traded, and I don't know whether they're trying to do something... Anunoby wants out... Do Masai (Ujiri) and Bobby (Webster, GM) make a move?"

There were rumors last summer that the 25-year-old 3-and-D powerhouse was unhappy with his role, and his usage with Raptors. But the 6th-year player is actually averaging career-highs this season with 17.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and an NBA-leading 2.1 steals per game. He's shooting 36.4% from long distance, in line with his numbers of last season, and down a tick from his 37.1% career mark.

A story emerged yesterday of a massive haul that the Raptors have already been offered for OG, but its veracity is unknown at this time. What is known is that team president Masai Ujiri is a big fan of Anunoby, and with him playing at an All-Defensive Team level, it certainly would take an insane offer that would have to bowl Ujiri over in order for the team to move off him.
