Karl-Anthony Towns Return Timeline Update Revealed

He's been out for three months now—since Nov. 28—and now it appears, according to Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch, that Karl-Anthony Towns is entering the home stretch of his recovery.

Finch says that Towns is in the "final stages" of trying to ramp up to play again, but yet he doesn't know exactly how long that will be. The Wolves have 21 games left to play, and sit in 7th spot, dead set in the middle of the densely-packed Western Conference—two games out of 12th, but also two games out of 4th.

Towns' return from his right calf injury would be an immense boost. He and Rudy Gobert have only played 21 games together, and they need to establish a chemistry in advance of the playoffs.

"He's itching to play," Finch said of Towns. "I don't think that it's a question of anything like going off path right now. I think it's just literally just going through the final stages of what that looks like.

"I don't know how long it's going to be, but talking to him, I definitely sense more so than any other conversation I've had with him up until this point that he's champing at the bit to get back and ready to help this team when that time comes.

"I don't get a sense that he's at a place where he feels like he's held back by anything unnecessarily. I think he feels like he's just finishing off the process."

For the T-Wolves' sake, they have to hope.
