Mikal Bridges Reveals How He Found Out About Trade To Nets

The Phoenix Suns shipped off Mikal Bridges in a blockbuster package to acquire former league MVP Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets during the wee hours of trade deadline day. About 18 hours later, during the Nets' 116-105 win over the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night, Bridges revealed how he found out about the trade.

That's a crazy way to find out you were traded. The NBA is indeed a cold business. Bridges even took to Twitter to react to the breaking news.

The trade definitely sent those awake at the time into a midnight frenzy, while those asleep were jolted in their beds the moment they checked their phones in the morning.

Apart from Bridges, the Suns also dealt young forward Cameron Johnson, veteran Jae Crowder, four first-round picks, and a pick swap to the Nets to land Kevin Durant and TJ Warren.

As seen in the clip above, Bridges was already in the building at Barclays Center, but did not make his Nets debut yet. He should be able to begin this next chapter of his career the next time Brooklyn takes the floor, which will be against Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.

In four and a half seasons in Phoenix, Bridges blossomed into one of the more promising two-way wings in the NBA. This season, he averaged a career-best 17.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists, while shooting 46.3 percent from the field.
