Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo Hangs 50+ in Close Win Over Los Angeles Clippers

Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was absolutely sensational in last night's victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Bucks needed every ounce of his excellence. The two-time MVP posted a colossal 54 points, 19 rebounds, and two assists in the closely contested 106-105 win. Antetokounmpo hit 21 of an eye-popping 39 field goal attempts and 10 of his 15 free throws. He also nabbed the game-sealing rebound on a missed two-point attempt from Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard. It was Antetokounmpo's third 50+ point game of the season and his second in three games. It was also his eighth game with 15+ rebounds. For the season, the Greek Freak is averaging an overpowering 32.2 points and 12.3 rebounds per game.

The win lifted the Bucks to 35-17, good for second place in the Eastern Conference. Perhaps no player in the NBA is as singularly responsible for his team's success as Antetokounmpo; he leads the association with a massive (and perhaps alarming) 39.1 usage rate. Hopefully, the recent return of Khris Middleton will ease Antetokounmpo's burden. The Bucks risk exhausting their leader before the playoffs at his current workload.
