NBA Rumors: Nuggets Targeting Top Buyout Candidate

The Denver Nuggets acquired a solid backup to Nikola Jokic at center at the trade deadline, bringing in Thomas Bryant from the Los Angeles Lakers, while they shipped out a backup guard in Bones Hyland.

But they might not be done making moves just yet. New reports are surfacing that the Nuggets are targeting one of the prime buyout candidates on the market.

The Nuggets are said to be prioritizing Reggie Jackson.

He had a rocky season with the Los Angeles Clippers, but can add some extra ballhandling depth for the Nuggets in the backcourt, particularly after the loss of Hyland (who, coincidentally, they sent to the Clippers, where he will replace Jackson in their bench rotation).

The 12th-year guard, Jackson, began the season as the starting point guard with the Clips, but quickly fell out of the rotation before winning back some time on the second unit. In the end,  the Clippers decided to move on, and dealt him to the Charlotte Hornets, who are expected to buy him out.

The Phoenix Suns are also said to be interested in Jackson.

The 32-year-old is averaging 10.9 points and 3.5 assists this season.
