NBA Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots For Free Agent Jerami Grant

Nine-year veteran Jerami Grant fit in quite nicely with the Portland Trail Blazers this past season, and Damian Lillard would like to see him stick around. And as a free agent, Grant's future does seem to be tied to the Blazers' icon.

With that in mind, let's have a look at three potential spots that Grant could call home in 2023-24 after the free agency dust settles.

Portland Trail Blazers

If Lillard is around, it seems highly likely that Grant will be too. The two became fast friends with Team USA during the Tokyo Olympics in the summer of 2021, and their bond was a main reason that Grant signed in the Pacific Northwest. Their partnership this past season worked quite well, with Grant averaging 20.5 points while shooting 40% from three-point range. Lillard has publicly indicated that he wants him to stay.

But if the unthinkable happens, and Lillard moves on from Portland, then that opens up the bidding to some other teams with plenty of cap room to meet Grant's contract expectations, which would be somewhere in the high-20s to $30M dollar per year range.

Indiana Pacers

A rebuilding team with a tremendous young core, the Pacers' one lineup spot that could still use a legitimate starter is power forward. The 6'8" high-scoring Grant would be an ideal add for head coach Rick Carlisle's club. And yes, the Pacers have oodles of room under the cap with which to get a deal done.

Utah Jazz

The Jazz made huge steps in their rebuild this season, much more quickly than expected. Adding a 20-point-per-game scorer like Grant to the mix would elevate them to the next level. Danny Ainge & Co. have the money to spend, and Grant would be a nice add.
