NBA Rumors: Another Surprising Team Emerges As Suitor For Dillon Brooks

He was dumped like a hot potato by the Memphis Grizzles as soon as their season came to an unceremonious end last week. But free agent Dillon Brooks, according to the rumor mill, already has a couple of suitors expected to be interested in his services.

According to NBA Insider Marc Stein, the young and rebuilding Detroit Pistons are a team to watch in the bid to sign the controversial, fiery forward.

Detroit has been mentioned to me more than once as a team to watch in terms of potential suitors for unrestricted free agent-to-be Dillon Brooks.

The Pistons are looking for a fierce perimeter defender, and Brooks certainly does fit that bill. His pairing with their fiesty big man Isaiah Stewart could really get under teams' skin. Brooks's floor spacing has been mediocre, however, as he shot just 32.6% from three this season, and 30% the year before.

Brooks was suspended no less than three times this past season for his... overzealousness, shall we say. He was also fined several times for other actions, including a confrontation with a courtside cameraman and other players.

Earlier this week, the Grizzlies announced that they would not be bringing Brooks back "under any circumstances", completely fed up with his act.

The first team out of the gate to have their name linked to Brooks in free agency was another Eastern Conference team, though one with much higher expectations next season than the Pistons.
