Damian Lillard "Would Make It Ugly" If Traded To This Destination

As training camp looms, the Damian Lillard situation is reaching a boiling point. The Portland Trail Blazers would like to have him shipped out before camp opens, and several teams not named the Miami Heat have come forward in talks with the Blazers.

But according to one report, if he's traded to the Toronto Raptors, Lillard would "make it ugly."

According to Five on the Floor’s Ethan Skolnick, a reporter who is very close with Lillard's agent made the claim.

“Toronto is a place that Dame would make it ugly,” Skolnick said. “He didn’t mention Chicago. He didn’t mention any other teams. He mentioned Toronto as a place that Dame would make it ugly. And I know for a fact, 100 percent, that this particular reporter has a great relationship with Dame’s agent and has for a very long time.”

Of course, reports said that Kawhi Leonard had no interest in coming to Toronto after that trade was made in the summer of 2018, and we all know how that turned out.

And it does sound like the Raptors have been (and might be again) close to making something happen on this front.

Per Matt Moore of Action Network, the Raptors were "deep in talks" with Portland, but Masai Ujiri pulled out last Thursday. “The Toronto stuff is just leveraging… I heard things were red hot on Thursday and again Masai walked away and then came back… I wouldn’t worry about the Raptors.”

And yet, there are still reports out there that call Toronto one of—if not THE—leading candidates to land Lillard in a trade.

Could be some fireworks south AND north of the border in the coming days.
