"Giannis, for the first time in his 12-year NBA career, is open-minded about whether his best fit is playing in Milwaukee or elsewhere, and exploring what those options outside of Milwaukee look like. And (asking himself) is it sensible for him to potentially leave? "
Charania adds that executives from all 30 teams are descending on Chicago for the Draft Lottery Monday night. So this would be the time for his camp to do some reaching out and "exploring".
"His goal is to win championships," reiterated Shams. "He's said it over the years, that 'my goal is I only want to compete for rings.' He said (again) it last month (on a podcast), 'If I retire without a second championship, (I) won't be able to sleep at night'."
This is a monumental development, and could change the face of the league.
We've shared recent hypothetical trades that would land Giannis in Houston, that would see his longtime family friend Masai Ujiri finally get him to Toronto with the Raptors, and many others.
The Bucks were once again eliminated in the first round of the playoffs this year, and their only title came back in 2021.
