NBA Trade Rumors: Warriors Looking at Trade With Celtics

The Golden State Warriors feel they're this close once again to championship contention since they acquired Jimmy Butler to team up with Steph Curry. They will be spending the summer trying to figure out how to take that next step.

In addition to potentially trading away the likes of Jonathan Kuminga, they will have their eyes set on adding some more players who fit their style, and one name that comes to mind, according to Logan Murdock of The Ringer, is combo guard Derrick White of the Boston Celtics.

We've heard that the Celtics will be making some big moves this summer to try to get under the second apron, and White's four-year deal that kicks in next season at $28 million (and going up from there into the mid-$30Ms), is a likely casualty.

“Another guy that I think you should look at for the Warriors going forward is Derrick White," said Murdock on the Zach Lowe Show podcast. "I think that’s something the Warriors are looking at right now.

"Boston is expected in league circles to have some sort of fire sale."

White would add more defensive chops to the Warriors, while being able to
"settle everyone down, especially when you have a young group like that," added Murdock.

"He's the one with all the trade value," agreed Lowe, in talking about the possibility of trading White in the Celtics' impending roster reset. "He's the one that can fetch you the motherlode — picks, picks, picks, young player."

It remains to be seen what the Warriors would be able to cobble together in an offer.

White averaged a career-high 16.4 points and 4.5 rebounds this past season while shooting 38.4% from three-point range and adding 4.8 assists per game.
