NBA Rumors: Insider Reveals Only One Way That Paul George Gets Traded This Summer
So what happens next with the Philadelphia 76ers this summer? Much of the talk after their disastrous season is about moving on from Paul George, who is suddenly looked at as having the second-worst contract in the NBA (behind only Bradley Beal, of course).
George was a massive disappointment in his first year in Philly on a new four-year, $211 million contract. He averaged a 13-year low 16.2 points, while posting his second-worst mark from three-point range in the last 14 seasons, at 35.8%.
Is a George trade in the works this offseason? According to insider Jake Fischer, the only way that happens is if PG asks for it himself.
The Philadelphia 76ers are not looking to break up their duo of Joel Embiid and Paul George, per @JakeLFischer

The Sixers are bought in on George and Joel Embiid as their duo for the near future, whether fans in Philly like it or not.
“Don't expect that duo, furthermore, to be broken up. Sources say that recent reports suggesting that the Sixers will be looking to explore George's trade market in conjunction with the draft are a misread," writes Fischer.
"It has been whispered often in league circles, going back to Philadelphia's free agency courtship of George last summer, that the Sixers would not turn around and try to move their marquee acquisition in the early stages of his Philly tenure unless George asked for a deal himself.”
PG managed to play just 41 games this past season, and Embiid only 19, so the pair have hardly gotten to establish any sort of identity together. And it certainly showed on the floor for the rest of the Sixers, who went 24-58, their worst season in eight years.
But with a healthy Embiid, George and Tyrese Maxey (yes, that's asking a lot), this is still a team that could seriously contend in the East, especially with the Boston Celtics essentially out of the picture for next year without Jayson Tatum, and the Milwaukee Bucks potentially being forced to trade Giannis Antetokounmpo.
