Rockets Open To Trading Sengun—But Only In Deal For This ONE Player

The Houston Rockets made the jump into the playoffs this season. But they're clearly not satisfied.

According to Kurt Helin of NBC Sports, the Rockets "would be open" to trading their breakout talented starting center, Alperen Sengun in order to acquire their top desired superstar. But there is only one man who fits that description, as far as the Rockets are concerned—Giannis Antetokoumpo.

Houston has plenty to offer Milwaukee, including Jabari Smith Jr. and a slew of good future first-round picks. Surprisingly, Helin adds that the Bucks may be higher on a Jalen Green-based trade though.

Moving Sengun would be a massive move, as his development over the past couple of years has been a key factor in the Rockets' rise to the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference this past regular season. He signed a five-year, $185 million contract extension in October, as the 2024-25 campaign got underway. It kicks in next season.

Sengun averaged 19.1 points, 10.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists along with 1.1 blocked shots in 2024-25.

Antetokounmpo recently left the door open for the first time to the possibility that he could consider a future outside of Milwaukee. Everyone is on pins and needles waiting to see if a trade request officially comes this summer from the two-time MVP and former NBA champion.

ESPN Insider Brian Windhorst has also projected the Rockets, along with their Lone Star State brethren, the San Antonio Spurs, as the top two candidates to trade for Giannis, due to the packages they could send back to the Bucks.
