Betting Favorites Named for Key Free Agent Center Naz Reid
After a career year, and a demand around the NBA for competent centers, Minnesota Timberwolves big man Naz Reid will undoubtedly decline his $15 million player option and hit the open market. He will be a much-sought-after free agent. Reid averaged 14.2 points and six rebounds, while also knocking down threes at a 38% clip.
We can think of a number of teams that will be focused on landing a legit man in the middle, but the bookmakers (h/t Max Dible of heavy.com) have set their projections as to who will ultimately land Reid. And the Golden State Warriors are the favorites.

Charlotte Hornets +285
Los Angeles Lakers +375

Per @BovadaOfficial, The Warriors are the +175 favorites to secure Reid, with the Brooklyn Nets second at +220. Charlotte comes in to show, at +285, while the Lakers are next at +375, and the Toronto Raptors are fifth at +525.
NBA insider Shams Charania recently said that the Dubs are definitely a team to watch. "Sources told me... the Warriors will be incredibly aggressive in the marketplace to go find help, to continue to retool around their big 3 of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler.
"I am told, their priority is finding a playmaking wing defender or a center."
The Nets are a surprise runner-up on the list, as they already have a pretty capable rim-protecting center in Nic Claxton, who is signed for another three years at an average of $23 million. Unless he becomes a trade candidate (which some have suggested), then the Nets don't make a lot of sense as the second favorite to land Reid).
The Lakers have been linked to just about every center who might be available this offseason, as they do need to plug the gaping hole in the middle that was left when they dealt Anthony Davis for Luka Doncic (not that anyone in LA is regretting the trade, don't get us wrong).
The Raptors also already have a legit big man in the middle that they like in Jakob Poeltl, so their inclusion on the list is also a head-scratcher.
Any way you slice it, though, Reid will find himself a hefty offer that will eclipse the $15 million he was slated for on his option. It's likely he'll be able to fetch a $20 million AAV.
