Knicks Trade Offer for Kevin Durant Turned Down

The New York Knicks and Kevin Durant had mutual interest, and an offer was made

A new wrinkle in the ongoing Kevin Durant Sweepstakes, as insider Shams Charania has revealed that the New York Knicks and KD had mutual interest, and an offer was made, but the Suns clearly turned it down.

"There was mutual interest between Kevin Durant and the Knicks at the trade deadline. The Knicks made an offer for Kevin Durant... Obviously, there was no trade, we'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks."

Who could the Knicks trade to Phoenix for Kevin Durant?

According to the Burns & Gambo show, the Suns have no interest in Karl-Anthony Towns in any trade offer for Durant, but they feel that an OG Anunoby or a Mikal Bridges could get it done.

Should the Knicks make another pitch to try and land Durant this offseason? Several high-profile Knicks fans aren't crazy about the idea:

The report from Shams about the Knicks' KD interest comes just a day after he said that trade talks will heat up to a fever pitch over the next two to three weeks, just ahead of the NBA Draft on June 25th.

"Conversations will begin to heat up over the next 2-3 weeks. I'm told the Suns will work with Durant and his business partner Rich Kleiman on a trade home. There's expected to be a robust market for him, with 4 to 6 teams seriously interested," said Charania.
