Kevin Durant Rumors: One Teams 'Not Interested' In Trading for Durant

One contender is 'not interested' in trading for Kevin Durant

There are several Kevin Durant trade destinations being pushed—some by the Phoenix Suns, some by other teams, some by insiders, some likely by Durant himself. But there is one contender on KD's list that is saying, 'No, thanks!'

Both the New York Post and Newsday are reporting that the Knicks are "not interested" in trading for Durant, as noted by Sam Amico of Hoops Wire.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst says that Durant "definitely has interest in the Knicks," but it doesn't sound like they have an appetite for trading two or three rotation players for him.

The legendary scorer, who'll enter next season at the age of 37 and with just one year remaining on his contract (at $54.7 million), asked out of Phoenix after the Suns supposedly blindsided him by trying to trade him at the February deadline. He put the kibosh on a couple of proposed deals at least at that time, one to the Golden State Warriors, and another, it's been revealed this week, to the Memphis Grizzlies

The Suns and Durant's camp have been working together to find him a new home, and Shams Charania is reporting today that a deal is expected "sooner rather than later."

"There is traction on Kevin Durant trade scenarios. There are some teams that are motivated to get a deal done sooner rather than later... Which team believes that they are a Kevin Durant away from winning the championship?"

He names the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves and, yes, the Knicks, as the main suitors. But New York insiders are telling us to cross them off the list.

The Knicks made the Conference Finals for the first time in 25 years, but are now coachless after firing Tom Thibodeau. And while the Knicks might be saying 'No' to Durant, they have heard 'No' from no less than five teams whose head coaches they're trying to poach.
