2 More Phoenix Suns To Watch On The Trade Block

Now that the Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal dramas are taken care of in Phoenix, the Suns can move on to other things, and according to insider Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, they aren't done refining their roster for the future just yet.

Siegel says that two three-point gunners are on the trade block:

In recent weeks, Phoenix has discussed Grayson Allen and Royce O'Neale on the trade block with teams in both conferences, sources said. The main point of emphasis to evaluate both veteran players' trade markets is to move off long-term money and open up options to build a long-term core.

Siegel adds that trades of the pair of 6'4" shooters aren't necessarily imminent, and they will likely begin the 2025-26 season in Phoenix. But their names will stay on the rumor mill.

"The consensus at NBA Summer League was that the Suns will involve both players in a lot of intel and chatter leading up to the trade deadline in February."

O'Neal, 32, still has three guaranteed years to run on his contract, with an AAV just under $11M. Allen, 29, also has three years left on his deal, but at a much more onerous annual value of about $18 million.

Both players shoot the ball well from beyond the arc; Allen posted a 42.6% mark this past season, after a league-leading 46% in his first year with the Suns. O'Neal averaged 40.6% from three-point range.

The Suns have brought in Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks this offseason (in the Durant trade with Houston) to form part of their starting core going forward. Each brings many more skills to the table, though neither are prolific three-point gunners, showing much more sporadic ability from distance. Brooks, though, did hit at a career-high 39.7% last season.
