Malik Beasley Cleared By Feds, Now Linked to 3 Teams in Free Agency
Now that he's been cleared in a gambling investigation by the FBI, Sixth Man of the Year runner-up Malik Beasley's free agency is picking up steam again. Brett Siegel of Clutch Points is reporting that there are three teams in the mix with interest in signing the 28-year-old premier shooter.
His numbers last season were excellent, and he shouldn't have any problem landing himself a contract, however, with most teams having done the bulk of their summer spending already, it won't be the deal he was expected.

Beasley was first in the NBA in bench scoring and second in total three-pointers made.
Siegel cites these three teams as his main suitors:
Detroit Pistons
Yes, there's still one roster spot open in Motor City, but the three-year, $42 million contract they were expected to offer him at the beginning of the summer is no longer possible. The most they can offer him now, says Siegel, is $7.2 million.
New York Knicks
Knicks are among teams that had done background work on Malik Beasley’s situation, how likely/unlikely a suspension in 2025-26 was for the free agent. ESPN reports that Beasley is no longer a target of federal gambling investigation. NYK currently has vet min to offer free agents

As noted by Ian Begley of SNY, the Knicks have done their due diligence on the sharpshooter, but they only have the veteran's minimum to offer him, which is just over $3 million.
Indiana Pacers
The Pacers have a $14.1 million disabled player exception that they can use as a result of the Achilles tear that will keep Tyrese Haliburton out for the year. However, cap considerations come into play here. The Pacers are only $6 million below the luxury tax, and a deal of that size would put them over.
As for Beasley, he's not too happy about the narrative that formed around him this summer while the federal gambling investigation was ongoing, and wherever he lands, he says he'll use that to fuel him for the coming season.
“I'll tell you one thing, I got a chip on my shoulder. I'm ready to destroy anybody in front of me, I'm ready to prove again that I belong in this league.”
