Miami Heat Considering Drastic Measures To Move On From Terry Rozier
Terry Rozier's time in South Beach has not gone the way anyone has liked. The Miami Heat have tried desperately to trade the one-time 20-point scorer this summer, but there is "scant interest" in him around the league. Now, word is they would love to buy him out.

“Sources say Miami still hopes to part with veteran guard Terry Rozier even though there is said to be scant trade interest in the 31-year-old," writes insider Jake Fischer. "Rozier is scheduled to make $26.6 million this season and the Heat are said to have some interest in buying him out. To be clear, though, no buyout appears imminent.”
The 31-year-old averaged just 10.6 points and 2.6 assists last season for the Heat in 64 games — both numbers are his lowest in seven years. His three-point percentage of a meager 29.5% was his worst in 10 years, since his rookie season. He ended the season pretty much out of the Heat's rotation.
When Miami traded for Rozier from the Charlotte Hornets during the 2023-24 season, he was a 23 ppg scorer. But his numbers quickly took a dip, and last year they really plummeted.
Making him even more persona non grata on the trade market is the fact that he has been under investigation all year in connection with a sports betting scandal.
With career earnings of $133.8 million through 2025, it's a complete head-scratcher that Rozier would have anything to do with a gambling ring. He has not been charged or accused of any wrongdoing, however, at this point.
Rozier was a star in Charlotte, with four straight seasons being right around the 20 ppg mark; it remains to be seen if he'll ever be given the chance to return to those heady days.
