It will be a multi-year deal for Horford, reports Shams Charania. But the phrasing of the news, that he "has committed" to the deal with the Warriors, still indicates that the Jonathan Kuminga situation needs to be resolved before the deal can actually be signed, as per analyst Keith Smith.
Kuminga must accept Golden State's qualifying offer by Wednesday (or another of their contract offers), and only then will the Dubs' salary cap situation be known, and Horford's deal to be revealed. At that point, he will be allowed to sign on the dotted line.
Horford spent seven of his last nine years with the Boston Celtics, helping them to an NBA championship in 2024. He will slot in now as the starting center for the Warriors.
The 39-year-old averaged 9.0 points and 6.2 rebounds for the Celtics last season.
