Russell Westbrook Preparing for HUGE Offer From Stunning Team

Nine-time NBA All-Star Russell Westbrook is still on the open market. A free agent with no home for the 2025-26 season, with opening night quickly approaching. And while the Sacramento Kings had shown interest all summer long, nothing was consummated. We're now getting word that a team from China is about to offer Russ a "massive" contract.

After he declined a $3.4 million option with the Denver Nuggets, Westbrook has been hard-pressed to land a deal for around that amount in North America. But in China, he could earn nearly four times that amount.

“I heard something from someone I trust enough not to blow off what they said: he may have an offer in China for about half a season—and it's damn near quadruple what the Kings could offer him," said Kings radio personality Carmichael Dave.

It's said to be a $12 million offer from China's Xinjiang Flying Tigers. That amount would dwarf any minimum salary that Westbrook could be expected to receive from an NBA team at this point. Teams have nearly all completed their rosters and are where they want to be with regards to the cap and luxury tax aprons.

However, despite all that, a Kings offer is still considered the most likely scenario, says Dave.

The Kings are going into the season with Dennis Schroder as their starting point guard, but could certainly use a veteran playmaker like Westbrook to back him up.
