NBA Trade Rumors: Potential Knicks Package Floated for Antetokounmpo

The rumors are juicy. The New York Knicks are Giannis Antetokounmpo's top choice if he ultimately decides to leave the Milwaukee Bucks.

But one player who we can say will definitely NOT be on the table if and when those trade talks pick up, is Jalen Brunson. He is the undeniable leader and face of the Knicks franchise, and he won't be going anywhere.

There are three other big names, however, that Sam Amick notes in The Athletic, who could be made available in any potential Knicks/Bucks talks:

"In terms of possible players being involved, the common sense lens turns toward Towns, OG Anunoby and Mitchell Robinson from there.”

For anyone scoffing at the unlikelihood of anything like this happening, Amick notes that the two teams DID in fact have trade talks this summer, and he writes, "The truth here is that this was not nothing. Not even close.

"Sloppy and ill-timed though it might have been," continued Amick, "with Antetokounmpo’s interest in joining the New York Knicks revealed after their failed trade talks with the Bucks in August, this was nothing short of an escalation. And it doesn’t really matter who caused it."

We all know that Giannis does indeed have a "wondering eye", as he admitted again at camp this month, and this will be a riveting story to follow as the season unfolds.
