"I don't know where a destination for Trae Young would be... The Mavericks would like to work out a deal to send Anthony Davis to Atlanta, but they have no interest in that. They (Dallas) want to move forward with Kyrie Irving as their point guard. And they're not going to play those two guys together," said Tim MacMahon on the Hoops Collective podcast.
The Hawks were 15-12 and in a decent spot in the tightly-packed Eastern Conference playoffs earlier this month after a long absence from Young allowed them to find themselves defensively. But then Trae came back. And the Hawks have lost seven straight games.
There's no question that Atlanta would love to move on from their mercurial but defensively-challenged point guard. And sure, they would love to bring in Anthony Davis.
Unfortunately for them, however, the Mavs will have none of that.
