Jonathan Kuminga's Agent Ignites Trade Rumor With Social Media Post
Jonathan Kuminga becomes trade eligible in three days. It's felt in a lot of quarters around the NBA that he will be dealt in short order as soon as that time arrives.
The latest chapter in this drama came on Sunday. Alder Almo of heavy.com notes that right after the Golden State Warriors' 114-111 loss to the Atlanta Hawks—a game in which Kuminga was a healthy scratch yet again—the player's agent posted a highlight reel of Kuminga going off for 25 points in a Golden State win over Atlanta back in the 2023-24 season.
Now, whether that was just an unprofessional dig at the Dubs to say, 'Hey, you got a player sitting on the bench who can ball', or simply 'Get my guy outta here', it doesn't really matter. All it did was further fuel the trade rumors (not that we needed that in Kuminga's case).
This is a bad sign. Petty tweets this close to being trade eligible signals they haven’t found a deal yet. If they had, you would be quiet and just count down the days.

Even if they did want him to play at this point, you would advise him to sit out, no?
Need this to wrap up.
One Warriors fan suggested that the agent's post likely means there's still no deal that's close, and he was getting frustrated.
Others clearly sided with Kuminga, blasting head coach Steve Kerr for his handling of the talented, athletic forward.
Say what yall want in these comments but if Kerr played our athletic players more (TJD/Kuminga) we’d definitely have a better record right now

But it's just the latest salvo in the ongoing battle between the Warriors and their disgruntled forward. He's been benched in 15 of the last 16 games.
The Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, and LA Lakers are some of the potential trade destinations for Kuminga. The Lakers, on the hunt for a three-and-D wing all season, have “continued to monitor Kuminga’s situation," wrote insider Jake Fischer.
