NBA Rumor: One Notable Team Has 'Zero Interest' in Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis, Dallas Mavericks center, grabs a rebound

He's a 10-time All-Star and a five-time All-Defensive Team member, as well as an NBA champion. But Anthony Davis isn't a hot commodity on the trade front, despite the apparent willingness of the Dallas Mavericks to move him.

While the Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors have been somewhat linked to Davis, one team that was also said to be interested in the big man, the Golden State Warriors, now has 'zero interest.'

Anthony Slater, speaking on ESPN's Stock Report, (h/t Bleacher Report), said this about the Dubs' desire to bring in AD:

I sense zero appetite for that right now from the Warriors… Not only trading for a guy, but you would very likely trade Draymond Green in that scenario. And it's like, imagine trading Draymond Green for a guy who, like, 'He might be back around playoff time.'

His compadre, Tim Bontemps, said that makes it "untenable." He added that even though he has long thought that Davis' fit would make "a lot of sense" for the Warriors and "solve a lot of issues all at once" for the team, that is "now off the board" for them. He cites Davis' massive contract and his unwieldy injury history.

AD is making $54 million this season, and that goes up to $58 million next year, and $62 million on a player option the year after. That's a big commitment for a player who has played just 29 games in the last calendar year since landing in Dallas in the ground-shaking Luka Doncic trade.

Yes, the Warriors are still in great need of a legit big man and a defender at the rim, but they'll be looking elsewhere. For instance, they're one of the teams on a young defensive stalwart in the Eastern Conference

Golden State will certainly be active in the trade market, most notably to finally end the Jonathan Kuminga Drama, and send him packing. He officially demanded a trade this week.
