In return, they get... yes, another guard back, in Collin Sexton, along with center Ousmane Dieng and three second-round picks. Dieng was acquired earlier from OKC in another trade by Charlotte in order to make this deal.
Bulls have a crowded backcourt, more trades could be coming
But according to the latest report, the Bulls are looking at other deals before Thursday's deadline to potentially ship out guards Ayo Dosunmu and perhaps Tre Jones. ESPN’s Bobby Marks told The Ringer’s Zach Lowe on “The Zach Lowe Show” that Dosunmu and Jones are the two most sought-after Bulls guards at the deadline.
Other backcourt pieces still in Chicago include Josh Giddey, and the the newly-acquired threesome of Jaden Ivey, Collin Sexton and Anfernee Simons.
For Coby White, heading to the Hornets is a homecoming, as he is North Carolina's career high school scoring leader and played for the Tar Heels in college.
The Bugs have won seven straight and are only a game out of a play-in spot. White gives them another scorer to add to the mix, along with LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, Kon Knueppel and Miles Bridges.
White has averaged 18.6 points, 4.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game this season.
