Warriors Lose FOUR More Players to Injury, inc. Draymond Green, Al Horford
When can we put a fork in the Golden State Warriors? Are they done yet?
With Jimmy Butler out for the year, and Steph Curry out for several more games (at least), the Dubs lost another four players to injury Friday night. They lost their fourth consecutive game, 127-117 to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The latest slew of injuries are as follows, all from Friday:
- Draymond Green – lower back soreness; scratched 30 minutes before tipoff
- Al Horford – right calf tightness; left game after five minutes
- Seth Curry – left adductor soreness; limped to the locker room in 2nd quarter
- Quinten Post – sprained his left ankle
Head coach Steve Kerr said that Horford would miss some time due a calf "strain", though there was no further word on Seth Curry or Post's status going forward. Green seemed to be not too badly hurt.
We'll see if they're even able to put a team on the floor for their next game Sunday night in New York against the Knicks.
"We're going through it," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. "We're about as beaten up as any team I can ever remember."
Curry has been sidelined since Jan. 30 because of a persistent right knee issue. The Warriors are 5-11 in that 16-game stretch, and have dropped to 32-34, two games behind the LA Clippers for the eighth seed in the Western Conference Play-In. They're only a half-game up on the Portland Trail Blazers for 10th. The 9 & 10 seeds have to win two games in order to make it into the playoffs proper, while the winner of the 7 & 8 seed Play-in matchup gets right in.
While Green may not be out for long, the latest news on the Steph Curry front wasn't too promising, as we heard on Friday that the team is concerned about re-aggravating his knee injury if they bring him back too soon—or even at all this season.
