4 NBA Head Coaches Who Will Be Fired

As the NBA season comes to an end next week, the first order of business for teams that miss out on the playoffs (and they all know who they are, at this point, aside from a couple of Play-In victims) will be to decide if a head coaching change is needed.

With that, we have a look at four coaches who are on the hot seat, and we begin with the man who is most certain to be on the outs, as his team is in utter turmoil right now.

Doc Rivers

It's a no-doubter that Rivers is done in Milwaukee. The same can be said for Giannis Antetokounmpo, of course, but that's another story.

"In coaching circles, there's no doubt, there is an expectation that he's not going to be there next season," writes insider Marc Stein.

Rivers, who thinks quite highly of himself, has seen his hubris lead to his downfall on more than one occastion in the NBA. Will he be able to convince another team around the league that he's worth another chance?

Jamahl Mosley, Orlando

The Magic did not take the next step that everyone foresaw this season, and find themselves in a five or six-team bunching at the lower end of the Eastern Conference playoff picture. Only two of those clubs will earn an outright playoff spot, the other three or four will have to battle it out in the Play-In.

According to Kurt Helin of NBC Sports, a recent callout from Mosley's star player is likely the final straw for the head coach.

Doug Christie, Sacramento

Needless to say, the Kings' season didn't go as expected. They are mired at the bottom of the West, tied with the Utah Jazz for the worst record in the conference.

With another rebuild getting underway this summer, it's pretty unlikely that Christie, the former popular Sacramento player, will get a chance to orchestrate it.

Brian Keefe, Washington

The Wizards are thinking that their days as a bottom-feeder in a perpetual rebuild are over, after acquiring Trae Young and Anthony Davis late this season. Assuming good health (and that's quite an assumption, especially for AD), those two, along with a nice array of young, promising players, should make the Wizards competitive.
The question is whether Keefe will be offered the opportunity to get them there.
Helin reports that "A lot of people in league circles expect" the Wiz to make a fresh start with a new head coach to lead the new-look team next season.
