3 Massive Trade Targets Named for Golden State Warriors

Steph Curry's window might be closing, but it's clear that it's not near shut yet. The Golden State Warriors, by bringing back Steve Kerr and talking him out of retirement, have indicated that they're willing to give it another run at squeezing another title out of the Steph Era.

To that end, they will attempt to swing BIG this offseason to add another superstar to the group with Curry and the hopefully healthy again Jimmy Butler.

"So long as Steph is on this roster and operating, when healthy, at an All-NBA level, the Golden State Warriors are obligated to pursue all-in moves until the wheels fall off," writes Dan Favale of Bleacher Report, who lists the Warriors' 3 massive trade targets for this summer:

Giannis Antetokounmpo

This is the obvious one. Giannis is every contending team's all-in move this offseason. So there will be plenty of competition. But who does Giannis most want to try for a title with, is the big question. Is it Steph? Or is it Bam, or Ant? Miami is making a huge push for him, as are the Timberwolves.

Kawhi Leonard

A lot of NBA execs see Kawhi as right up there at the top with Giannis as teams' No. 1 trade target this summer.

Leonard's future is very much up in the air as the Clippers await the NBA's ruling on the 'cap circumvention' scandal and the status of Kawhi's contract. But either way, he could be on his way out of LA as the Clippers started a burgeoning youth movement this past season with the acquisitions of explosive backcourt members Bennedict Mathurin and Darius Garland. Could Kawhi follow James Harden and Ivica Zubac out the door?

If so, the Warriors would be ready to pouce.

Donovan Mitchell

If the Cavaliers can't get themselves back into the Eastern Conference Final (trailing 2-0 to the Knicks going into Game 3), there could be big changes. Would Spida want out?

"'What about the defense?!' will be a common refrain when looking at a prospective Steph-Spida backcourt," writes Favale. "That is fair. And also immaterial. The offense will be dynamite, and Golden State may have the juice to cover up a ton of deficiencies if it keeps Green, Kristaps Porziņģis (unrestricted) and De'Anthony Melton (unrestricted) and nails a marginal signing or two."
