7 Suitors Named as Bucks Officially ‘Open For Business’ on Giannis Trade

Well, there it is. If it wasn't official already, it is now. The Milwaukee Bucks are officially "open for business" on taking offers from teams on a trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Insider Shams Charania says the Bucks have given a deadline of the NBA Draft on June 23 to finalize a deal to move Antetokounmpo. So it's six weeks and counting for teams to ante up their best offers for the two-time MVP and 2021 Finals MVP.

Seven teams have been named as the most notable clubs that will make a big pitch to the Bucks:

  • Cleveland Cavaliers
  • Boston Celtics
  • Miami Heat
  • New York Knicks
  • Los Angeles Lakers
  • Minnesota Timberwolves
  • Golden State Warriors

There have been a number of rumors connecting Giannis to Cleveland already, including the Cavaliers turning down an offer that many around the sport would have accepted.

We know that Giannis expressed interest last summer in being traded to the Knicks, but the two teams couldn't agree on a trade package.

Miami has been linked forever to Giannis, and they do have some pieces that could pull it off. The others on the list, including the TimberwolvesCeltics, and the Lakers, in addition to the Knicks and Cavs, made attempts at the February deadline to swing a deal. As Charania notes, how those teams finish their 2026 playoff runs (the Celts are already out), "will play a major factor in their aggressiveness to trade for him."

The clock is ticking, and it seems pretty certain that the Greek Freak has played his last game for Milwaukee.
