With the 7-game defeat at the hands of the Pistons, Orlando suffered a first-round elimination for the third straight season.
Truth be told, injuries certainly played a big part in the Magic’s downfall. 20 ppg scorer Franz Wagner played only 34 games this season, and just 4 of the 7 games in their first-round loss to Detroit. The team's best player, Paolo Banchero, managed just 46 games last season.
The 47-year-old Mosely took the team out of a rebuild phase, and molded them into a playoff team in each of the past three seasons. But they fell short short in the first round in each of those appearances. Overall, he posted a 189-221 in Orlando.
Names such as Billy Donovan and Tom Thibodeau are already surfacing as potential replacements.
