Sacramento Kings To Make Stunning Move With DeMar DeRozan

The Sacramento Kings are trying their hardest to trade DeMar DeRozan. The six-time All-Star has a $25.74 million expiring contract, but it is only guaranteed for $10 million. If they can't trade him, however, the Kings are expected to make the stunning move of waiving and stretching his contract over the next three seasons.

"In the midst of a rebuild and over the first apron, barring an unexpected trade, the Sacramento Kings are expected to waive-and-stretch forward DeMar DeRozan, HoopsHype has learned," Michael A. Scotto writes.

The Compton native would become an unrestricted free agent in that scenario, and Scotto says that the LA Clippers would be a team interested in bringing in the hometown kid.

DeRozan averaged a 13-year low 18.4 points per game last season in Sac Town, with 2.9 rebounds—a career low—and 4.1 assists, a 10-year low.

Another notable rumor has the Kings no longer interested in trading for Ja Morant. They will likely take a point guard with the 7th pick in tonight's draft.
