And there it is. After more than a year's worth of hemming and hawing, the Milwaukee Bucks have finally traded Giannis Antetokounmpo, and he winds up with his top preferred destination, the Miami Heat.

Giannis, along with Bobby Portis, head to the Miami Heat for Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, three first-round picks (including No. 13 this year) and unprotected firsts in 2031 and 2033, one pick swap and one second-rounder.

Of note, the two teams will not make the trade official until July 6th, which leaves the framework open to see if there are opportunities to expand it to include other teams, and for the Bucks to send some of their acquired pieces elsewhere. Tyler Herro, who grew up just outside Milwaukee, has been linked to other teams as part of a trade, notably the Detroit Pistons, so we'll watch what happens on that front.

What happened to Celtics in Giannis sweepstakes?

The Boston Celtics were aggressive in pursuing Giannis, and were in it till the end, and offered Milwaukee a package that included Jaylen Brown and two unprotected first-round picks. But they were unwilling to include players like Baylor Scheierman and Hugo González, and more first-rounders, according to reports.

Giannis's 13 years in Milwaukee will go down in history as one of the greatest runs ever in the NBA.

He's a 10-time All-Star, a 9-time All-NBA player, a 5-time All-Defensive Team, including one Defensive Player of the Year, a two-time MVP, and of course an NBA champion and Finals MVP.
