Shocking Blockbuster Trade Sends Kawhi Leonard Back To Toronto Raptors

In a shocking turn of events, Kawhi Leonard is heading back to the Toronto Raptors, in a blockbuster trade with the LA Clippers. 

 The Raptors will send Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, 2 first-round picks, 1 pick swap and 2 second-rounders to the Clippers in return. 

They will also need to pony up a huge extension for Kawhi, who has one year remaining on his current deal that will pay him $50M this coming season.

Kawhi Leonard is back in The North, returning to the team he led to the NBA championship in 2019. 

ESPN reports that Kawhi wants to play the rest of his career in Toronto and retire as a Raptor. 

Insider Chris Haynes reports that Kawhi and the Raptors will start to hammer out a new two-year extension which would kick in next summer and lock him up with Toronto through the 2028-29 season. 

Leonard, who turned 35 on Monday, is coming off one of the best seasons of his career, averaging a personal best 27.9 points, and after years of injury troubles, also played 65 games, his second-highest of the last nine years.
