4 Top Trade Landing Spots For Bucks' Kyle Kuzma

The Milwaukee Bucks, after trading giannis Antetokounmpo in a blockbuster deal to the Miami Heat earlier this offseason, aren't done making moves yet. They've been working on trading both Kyle Kuzma and Myles Turner this summer. 

For the former LA Laker Kuzma, with a $20.5 million expiring deal, there could be plenty of teams that would have interest. He's averaged 16.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game during his nine-year NBA career, though his minutes, and accordingly, those numbers, were down a bit last season. 

Fran Leiva of Fadeaway World has proposed several plausible landing spots as the Bucks continue to try to trade the 6'8" forward. Here, we look at the top 4 options.

LA Lakers

This would be a reunion for The Kuz, as the Lakers are the team he spent the first four years of his career with, including playing a key role off the bench for their 2020 NBA championship team. He knows the city, and the franchise knows what he can do. 

Golden State Warriors

After finishing 22nd in the NBA in scoring last season, and with Jimmy Butler out until at least after Christmas, the Dubs need some additional scoring. They failed to land LeBron James, or any other of their big-name targets this summer, but Kuzma could be a nice Plan B.

"He can anchor bench units, play the four next to Kristaps Porzingis, and take on tougher, more physical matchups than most of Golden State’s current wings can handle," writes Leiva.

Detroit Pistons

Another team that needs to augment its scoring. Cade Cunningham needs some help, and Pistons forwards did not offer much of that in 2025-26. Yes, they added John Collins and Taurean Prince to help out in that regard (and Isaiah Joe in the backcourt), but Kuzma would be another nice addition.

New Orleans Pelicans

Surprisingly, after another dreadful season at the bottom of the Western Conference, the Pelicans haven't done much to change things up this summer. But Leiva thinks adding the Kuz would be a nice boost.

"A lineup with Dejounte Murray healthy, Jordan Poole, Trey Murphy, Kuzma, and Zion Williamson to close out games would at least give the Pelicans some hope to go from out of the Play-In to playoff contention next year."
