7-Year Veteran Lonnie Walker IV Returns To The NBA
Lonnie Walker IV has agreed to a one-year, $3.3 million deal with the Denver Nuggets, agent George S. Langberg of @GSLSportsGroup told ESPN. Walker put up some nice numbers for Maccabi Tel Aviv last season, in both the Israeli League and the EuroLeague. He averaged 15.4 points per game across 41 contests, while shooting threes at nearly a 38% pace. He's an explosive athlete and shot creator.
He was being wooed by Partizan in Serbia and earlier this week it was thought that they were the frontrunners to sign him this summer. Until this NBA opportunity came calling.
How Lonnie Walker IV will help the Nuggets
He'll provide some nice depth in the backcourt for the Nuggets, and should replace some of the scoring and shooting they lost with the defection of Tim Hardaway Jr. to the Miami Heat.
He could even come in handy in a 'break glass in case of emergency' scenario if restricted free agent Peyton Watson is not able to be re-signed.
Walker last played in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2024-25, getting into 20 games while averaging 12.4 points and 2.5 assists in 23.9 minutes per night. He shot 35.6% from long range.
After being selected with the 18th overall pick by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2018 NBA Draft, he spent his first four years in the league there, and overall has has averaged exactly 10.0 points in 342 games across his seven years in the NBA.
