D'Angelo Russell Chooses Shocking Destination In Free Agency

D'Angelo Russell was recently released by the Memphis Grizzlies, and has been a member of six NBA teams over the last three years. After all the shuffling around, he has now decided to take his talents to... China.

Russell has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association. 

The Sharks are the defending CBA champions, their first title since 2002 when they were led by the legendary Yao Ming. 

Russell will not be the first NBA player to suit up for the Sharks since then, with other notables including Hassan Whiteside, Gilbert Arenas, Michael Beasley, Eric Bledsoe and Delonte West.

Whiteside was the center last year on the championship team in Shanghai but an anti-doping violation could leave him banned from the league, which has a zero-tolerance rule on that sort of thing. 

In 11 NBA seasons D'Lo, 30, averaged 17 points, 3.3 rebounds and 5.6 assists over 655 games. He shot 36.3% from three-point land.
