The Shanghai Sharks wrapped up a deal earlier this week with former All-Star D'Angelo Russell; now they're bringing in a three-time NBA champion, also an ex-Laker. JaVale McGee has signed on with the Sharks to play in China.

The two former NBA stars will try to help lead the Sharks to back-to-back Chinese Basketball Association titles.

McGee, now 38, last played in the NBA in 2023-24 with the Sacramento Kings. He appeared in 46 games and averaged 4.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in 7.4 minutes per game.

The big man played in China last year as well, with the Beijing Ducks, where he averaged 11.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists.

He's also played in Australia and Puerto Rico since leaving the NBA.

McGee won NBA titles with the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018, and won a third with the Lakers in the bubble in 2020.

Overall, in 909 regular-season games across 16 seasons, he averaged 7.6 points and 5.0 rebounds in 16.1 minutes per game. In addition to the Warriors, Lakers and Kings, he's also suited up for the Washington Wizards, Denver Nuggets, Philadelphia 76ers, Dallas Mavericks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Phoenix Suns.
