NBA Rumors: Myles Turner Interested in NY Knicks

The Indiana Pacers made it clear last week that they're ready to deal some of their big-name veterans to start a rebuild. In turn, centre Myles Turner made it clear that he's not happy with his role in Indiana. And the New York Knicks... well, they're desperate for a shakeup.

Now add into the mix a rumor that Turner was hoping to get moved to the Knicks this past summer, and you have a percolating rumor.

Newsday's Steve Popper indicated on @SNYtv's The Putback that he heard from people in the offseason that "(Turner) would've liked to land in New York last summer if a deal could be made. He likes the idea of being here."

Knicks beat reporter Ian Begley says it would take a "significant" offer, which, he suggests, would have to include at least one of the Knicks' prime young centre pieces, like Mitchell Robinson, along with perhaps one of Obi Toppin or Immanuel Quickley. Unless the Pacers would be satisfied with draft capital instead.

Turner has made it clear that he wants a better situation, viewing himself as nothing more than a "glorified role player" for the Pacers.

The 25-year-old is currently leading the NBA in blocked shots for the 3rd time in 4 years, while continuing to be a serious threat from the outside, hitting threes at a 38% clip.

As for the Knicks, they're certainly in need of a jolt, losers of 4 straight, 8 of their last 10, and sitting in 12th in the Eastern Conference.
