These 7 Teams In Ben Simmons Trade Talks With Sixers

The Ben Simmons drama seems to be coming closer to a climax, according to the latest report, as a "fresh pool of teams" has stepped into the fray, according to Shams Charania.

In fact, there are now seven teams that are in talks with the Philadelphia 76ers, with newcomers like the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers now making their interest known.

The full list of teams now said to be involved in talks on a Simmons trade, according to Charania:

  • Cleveland Cavaliers
  • Indiana Pacers
  • Los Angeles Lakers
  • Minnesota Timberwolves
  • New York Knicks
  • Portland Trail Blazers
  • Sacramento Kings
A few of these teams have been mentioned in previous trade rumors around Simmons, including the Kings, Trail Blazers and Timberwolves, but with some fresh blood in the water, Philly GM Daryl Morey now has many more options to feed his "difference-maker" and 1st round draft picks demands in any trade.

Simmons has been sitting out the season, first demanding a trade in the offseason, then surprisingly reporting to Philadelphia but soon after claiming "mental unreadiness" to play in games.

On Wednesday, an extra 20% of the NBA's players become eligible to be traded (those who'd signed new contracts in the offseason), so it's reasonable to expect things to really start heating up in the coming week.
