Insider: "There's a Scenario Where Ja Morant May Not Return This Season"

Ja Morant is officially on a two-game "leave" from the Memphis Grizzlies, or as NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski called it this weekend, a "defacto-suspension." He said that the two games could morph into more games.

Now, according to fellow NBA Insider Brett Siegel, there's no telling just when the superstar guard could be back.

With people I've talked to around the league, there's a sense that's it's going to be a prolongued absence. It's going to be longer than those two games. Will it be two weeks, three weeks? Nobody really knows at this point.

But there is a scenario in which Ja Morant may not return until the final week of the season; there's a scenario in which he may not return until the playoffs; and there's an outside chance that he might not return at all this season.

As Siegel notes, "it's all about getting Ja Morant the help that he needs... He's a young man, he's a father, he has a family, and life is bigger than basketball right now. He needs to figure out all this drama off the court."

Clearly, not only the Grizzlies, but the NBA needs Morant to figure all this out, as he was quickly becoming one of the faces of the entire league.

The 23-year-old two-time All-Star is averaging 27.1 points, 8.2 assists, 6.0 rebounds and innumerable mind-blowing highlights. Let's all hope he works out his demons and returns with a healthy situation.
