NBA Trade Rumors: Warriors Turned Down THIS Deal from Sacramento for Kuminga
The Jonathan Kuminga drama in Golden State continues to play out. He wants $30 million a season, and the Dubs don't want to give it to him. That's essentially where the two sides stand on his restricted free agency and his next contract.
There are a couple of teams, however, that do want to pay the former 7th overall pick. The Sacramento Kings are one of them. And per Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, they made this offer to the Warriors in a sign-and-trade, which was flatly refused.
DISCUSSED DEAL: The Sacramento Kings are willing to part ways with Devin Carter, Dario Saric and a protected first-round pick for Jonathan Kuminga, but the Warriors declined, according to Brett Siegel 👀

Warriors would receive:
- Devin Carter
- Dario Saric
- protected first-round pick
Sacramento Kings would receive:
- Jonathan Kuminga
But while that package didn't tickle the Warriors' fancy, Siegel says Keegan Murray and Keon Ellis are the two Kings players that they “would likely want in a potential sign-and-trade.”
We don't see the Kings going for that. They have been very protective of Murray, the 4th overall pick in the 2022 Draft, even though he didn't progress this past season as hoped. They still see him as a part of their core. In fact, they recently told Keith Smith that they are “hopeful that we can get something done that keeps him in Sacramento for a long time.”
Ellis is another youngster the Kings hold in high regard after a nice second full season in the NBA.
Carter was Sacramento's first-round pick in the 2024 Draft (13th overall), but barely got his feet wet in his rookie season last year, playing in just 11 minutes per game in just 36 contests, averaging 3.6 points. The Kings are, in fact, desperately trying to bring in a veteran at the point, with both Russell Westbrook and Ben Simmons on their radar.
And so, the Kuminga situation continues to fester in Golden State, with no end in sight.
