NBA Trade Rumor: Proposed Sign & Trade Sends LeBron James To Knicks in 1-for-1 Deal
The rumors have emerged on Wednesday that LeBron James and his agent and BFF Rich Paul will be asking the Los Angeles Lakers for a max deal to re-sign in LA. That could very well put the kibosh on any possibility of a LeBron return to the Purple & Gold.

But there's apparently a method behind the madness:
"LeBron and his agent, Rich Paul, are reportedly going to ask for the max from the Lakers and want to know how the Lakers plan to spend that money if they are offering less, which is really a complicated way of saying they want to know what the Lakers’ plans are," writes Kurt Helin. "It’s easy to imagine LeBron returning to the Lakers on something like a two-year, $50 million contract with a player option on the second year and a no-trade clause."
With that being said, FOX Sports' Nick Wright has suggested that a one-for-one deal to the New York Knicks makes a lot of sense:
Nick Wright says he could see LeBron James joining the Knicks if they lose in the NBA Finals. 👀

Knicks receive:
LeBron James
Lakers receive:
Mikal Bridges

This would be predicated on the possibility that the Knicks lose the Finals to San Antonio and are looking for a big veteran boost this offseason.
Wright proposes a deal that would send Mikal Bridges to the Lakers in return for LeBron.

Landing an elite wing defender like Bridges would be a great fit for the Lakers to go with Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, while James would bring that "secondary" scoring and playmaking that the Knicks could use, not to mention his championship pedigree.
