James Harden Clowned on Social Media for Major Brain Fart During Play

Just when it seemed that James Harden had started to turn things around, after a dreadful start to the season, he pulled a ridiculous brain fart in the middle of play on Friday night as his Brooklyn Nets faced the Detroit Pistons.

While playing the point, trying to set up a play at the left elbow, above the 3-point line, he lost the ball into the backcourt, started to run after it, then simply stopped and gave up on it, while it was still rolling inbounds. The Pistons' Saddiq Bey ran past him, scooped it up, and went in for the uncontested dunk.  

"What is James Harden doing??.... Look at this folks!!... James Harden had a BRAIN LAPSE", shouted game analyst Greg Kelser.

Perhaps Harden was worried by touching it he'd be called for an over-and-back... But last we checked, over-and-backs weren't an automatic two points for the opposition, which is what this play turned into. Clearly he'll be the featured star on the next Shaqtin' A Fool. 

Didn't matter much in the end, though, as Harden finished with a triple-double (on 3-of-10 shooting however, for 13 points), and the Nets won the game, 96-90.
