VIDEO: Cade Cunningham Got Ejected For THIS?

Most basketball fans would agree that referees are best when they're not noticed. Unfortunately, one ref decided to make himself known in the Detroit Pistons game with the Phoenix Suns today, and call a 2nd technical foul, leading to an ejection, on Pistons' rookie sensation Cade Cunningham for THIS:

Cunningham simply pointed in the direction of his OWN bench after a spectacular reverse slam along the baseline, sending the Detroit fans into a frenzy. He received his 2nd tech for some bizarre reason, and therefore, an automatic ejection.

"Unbelievable .. Are you kidding me??" "What'd he do?" marveled the stunned Detroit broadcast crew.

NBA front office insider Bobby Marks also let his feelings on the questionable call be known.

"The fans do not pay their hard-earned money to watch the officials," wrote Marks on Twitter. "Throwing out (a second T) Cade Cunningham for pointing to his bench is awful."

Referee crew chief explained it thusly: “After he dunked the ball, he was assessed a technical foul for a physical taunt for pointing at the defender.”

Except... he did not.

Cade said he was pointing at his friends and family, situated behind the Suns' bench. "I had my people right behind the bench."

Terrible call, robbing the home fans of seeing the only star their team has.

There's a slogan sometimes used in major league baseball, "Let the kids play". Too bad this ref crew hasn't seen it.
