Suns Superstar Could Miss Time With Injury

With a 6 1/2 game lead atop the Western Conference, the Phoenix Suns have a little breathing room, but it’s never a good thing when your leader is forced to miss time with an injury. Chris Paul had a cast on his hand during All-Star practice on Saturday, and was “vague” when discussing his playing status.

“We're 48-10 and if we do miss some time I know the guys are going to hold it down," Paul said, referencing the Suns' record. "There's always going to be a frustration with injury. My hand surgeon is part of my family now."

He was undoubtedly referring to the fact that he’s had four hand or wrist surgeries in the past. The latest injury came when he smashed his thumb on a player’s arm after throwing a pass Wednesday night.

CP3 is averaging 14.9 points and a league-best 10.7 assists, while playing in every game thus far this season.

He voiced his frustration at the prospect of sitting out with the injury. "I always want to play. When I felt that in my hand, I was mad for all types of reasons," Paul said. "Obviously we're not going to [rush it]. I'm going to try to heal as fast as physically possible. The second I'm able to play, I guarantee you I will be playing."
